“Schmidt & Schmidtchen” is a Hamburg patisserie and bakery that has received several awards from trade magazines, and currently has 14 of its own cafés in Hamburg. What drives us and connects us with our guests is the passion for good taste, quality and genuine craftsmanship.

The bakery is the heart of our business – historically known as a patisserie from the Elbe suburbs, we practice traditional craftsmanship and, in addition to our high-quality classic and seasonal cakes, pastries, petit fours and pastries, we also produce delicately melting confectionery ice cream in the summer months. Our bakers produce award-winning breads and rolls every day and our master baker is Northern Germany’s first certified bread sommelier.

The cafés are our face to the world – At “Schmidt & Schmidtchen” no café is quite like any other and each place is worth discovering individually. When visiting the “Schmidtchen Jenisch Haus”, the former billiard room of the Senator’s Villa invites you to have coffee and cake. The “Schmidtchen Schanze” in house 73, right next to the Rote Flora, is young and urban and in the “Schmidtchen Speicherstadt” our guests can directly experience the world cultural heritage site.
With the “Schmidtchen City am Bleichenfleet” we have now also found a home in the city centre. On the water side of the GALLERIA Passage our Schmidtchen offers a large breakfast selection as well as lunch and daily fresh bread and rolls, cakes, tarts and pastries from our bakery.

Your celebrations are a genuine delight for us – we know how to plan the perfect event and which partners are needed for it! Whether a wedding, birthday or company celebration – we will accompany you from the first idea to the last empty glass.
